  1. Do you offer contract packaging services?

While we don’t offer contract packaging services directly, we are a trusted supplier of labeling and ink-jet coding equipment to contract packagers. We can provide the equipment and expertise they need to efficiently and accurately label your products.

  1. What kind of service and support do you offer for your equipment?

We also offer customizable quarterly or annual scheduled service visit programs and contracts (Preventative Maintenance) to keep your equipment running smoothly and minimize downtime.

Labeling Equipment Performance

  1. How many products per minute can I label with a semi-automatic labeling system?

Labeling speeds vary based on product size, label dimensions, and how products are staged for labeling. Contact us to discuss your specific application for a more accurate estimate.

  1. What is the labeling speed of your automatic labeling systems?

Our automatic labeling systems are equipped with high-performance label applicators. The SL1500 applicator can dispense up to 1,500 inches per minute (ipm), while the SL2000 applicator can reach speeds of 3,000 inches per minute. Actual speeds depend on product size, label placement requirements, and the specific system configuration.

  1. What print and dispense speed can I expect from a print and apply system?

The print and dispense speed of our print and apply systems depends on the print engine selected. We offer print engines capable of printing and dispensing up to 16 inches per second, allowing for efficient on-demand label creation and application.

Case Handling & Coding

  1. How many cases per minute can a semi-automatic case taping system handle?

Semi-automatic case taping systems typically achieve tape speeds of 20-30 cases per minute, significantly increasing efficiency compared to manual taping.

  1. What is the difference between a semi-automatic case erector and an automatic case erector?

A semi-automatic case former automatically closes the bottom flaps of a case. An operator erects a case and places it in the former, which then seals the bottom flaps. The operator then fills the case. An automatic case erector automatically takes flat boxes from a magazine, erects them, and pushes them into a lug belt system for bottom sealing and further processing.

  1. I need to label or print on flat cases for inventory purposes. Do you have a solution?

Yes, we offer labeling and ink-jet printing systems specifically designed for flat cases. Our systems utilize flat belt conveyors (with or without vacuum belts) or vertical case transport systems (VCTS) to move cases under label applicators or ink-jet printers for efficient and accurate marking.

  1. Should I continue labeling cases or switch to ink jet printing?

The best option depends on your specific needs and cost considerations. Compare the cost of labels to the cost of ink. In most cases, ink-jet printing is more cost-effective. Our ink-jet systems include a calculator to determine ink consumption costs based on your printing requirements.

Shrink Sleeves

  1. I’m considering switching to shrink sleeves. What are the advantages?

Shrink sleeves offer a full 360-degree “billboard” area for printing, allowing for more extensive product information, ingredient statements, warnings, and branding. This is particularly beneficial for products with complex labeling requirements.

  1. What shrink sleeve applicators and shrink tunnels do you recommend?

We offer a range of shrink sleeve systems and heat shrink tunnels. The ideal system depends on your required speeds, product size and shape, and the shrink sleeve materials used. Contact us for a customized recommendation.

  1. Can I purchase printed shrink sleeves from Elmark Packaging?

Yes, we offer high-quality flexographic or rotogravure printed shrink sleeves in up to 10 colors.

  1. What types of printing systems does Elmark Packaging offer?
